About this Blog
Welcome to Listening to My Life. I write on communication, creativity, faith, vibrant health and any of the stuff that makes life more interesting and more fun.
About Michelle
I have a lot of thoughts floating around in my head. Rather than let them disappear into Internet nothingness as status updates, I’ve decided to explore them in this blog.
My favorite parts of the day include my first sip of tea or coffee in the morning, journaling, drinking red wine with dinner (or any other time!), watching hummingbirds at the feeder and getting 7-8 hours of sleep.
I love reading in my big, cozy papasan chair by the window. Reading by natural light is the best! I watch only a few channels on TV because I have crummy rabbit ears that can’t pick up ABC or PBS. I do, however, enjoy Netflix on an as-needed basis.
I love the newspaper and the feel of newsprint in my hands. It reminds me of why I got my journalism degree at the University of Texas at Austin, and why I cried when Walter Cronkite, UT alum, died.
I follow Jesus because, after exploring many spiritual paths, I discovered that he’s the one that made me Real. When you spend your entire life looking for something, you know when you find it. And once you find Truth, you know that you never want to let it go.
I love my family and friends powerfully and without hesitation. I’ve been a vegetarian by choice for 15+ years, and I’ve been gluten-free (not by choice) since 2008.
I’ve turned the 20-min power nap into an art form, I’ve learned more by listening than I’ve ever learned by talking, and I have excellent dental hygiene.
That’s about all I have to say. For now. Thanks for reading!
